POST-REALISM
An important clue in contemporary Chinese painting is the separation, transformation and reconstruction of realism that once occupied absolute orthodoxy and mainstream status. Various factors of realism, from concepts, aesthetics, techniques, and fun, are still Today’s paintings play a role, but they have been dismantled and reorganized into new contexts and methods.
Artist:Liu Xiaodong、Liu Ye 、Mao Yan、Li Songsong、Liu Xiaohui、Guo Hongwei、Song Yuanyuan、Yan Bing、Qin Qi、Wang Yuping、Gong Jian、Wei Jia
ANTI-TASTE
The taste is not natural, but the result of history, culture, and discourse. Therefore, the taste is always the starting point and practice of art. Reflections and rebellions on established tastes have different aims for different painters, but in the end they all have a strong personal style. In this “Interesting Dialectics”, the creative transformation of contemporary Chinese painting’s personality conception of modernism is included, and it also continues the “defense of literary field” in ancient China.
Artist:Geng Yini、XU ZHEN®、Chen Fei、Wong Ping、Liao Guohe、Zheng Haozhong、Tang Dixin、Zhou Siwei、Duan Jianyu、Wang Wei、Lou Shenyi
META-PAINTING
Meta-painting is a painting about painting and painting after painting. In China’s complex and profound historical context, meta-painting not only has a strong tendency of theoretical contemplation, but also sorts out its own unique experience, so that we can Liberate painting from the linear and homogeneous concept of time and return to it. The basic cognitive framework behind painting and the conscious awareness of the conditions for its formation.

ABSTRACT FIELD
Modernist traditions from the West did not really bear fruit in China, but they brought us the concept of “abstraction”. China’s abstract art is not a concept-building doctrine, but a style of work results. Under the abstract appearance, different artists pay attention to and present different issues, including materials, physical properties, bodies, space, perceptions, methods, procedures, time, and what constitutes art, thus forming an interlaced field.
Artist:Guan Yinfu、Liang Quan、Wang Guangle、Xue Feng、Ma Shuqing、Liu Wei、Yang Shu、Xie Molin、Li Shurui、Chen Wenji、Dong Dawei、Liang Manqi
