Beijing Dangdai Art Fair 2026 | Special Curatorial Section “In the Cool of Summer” Booth Scene

Beijing Dangdai Art Fair 2026 opened on May 21 at Hall 11 of the National Agricultural Exhibition Center, with May 21–22 as VIP Preview Days and May 23–24 as Public Days.

Seven participating institutions from Europe gathered in a 100-square-meter special curatorial section at the fair, including: Galerie Christophe Gaillard, Galerie Thomas Schulte, Meyer Riegger Wolff, PSM, Hua International, Collecta, and Galerie Judin. Curated by Yang Tiange, the section is titled “In the Cool of Summer” and brings together 52 works, entering into dialogue with “LAND TRACE” in early summer Beijing while proposing a shared vision that transcends cultural and geographical boundaries.

In the Cool of Summer

In early May, summer begins in Beijing; by late May, we are pleased to present the Curatorial Section In the Cool of Summer at Beijing Dangdai Art Fair.

In the Cool of Summer is a special international section of the fair this year, bringing together seven European galleries and presenting paintings and sculptures by more than ten artists.

In the Cool of Summer enters into dialogue with the fair’s overarching theme, LAND TRACE. Proceeding from a position of equality and informed by a post-anthropocentric view of nature, the section reflects on the relationship between humans and the natural world, while also questioning narrow definitions of the human and of identity itself. In doing so, it proposes a shared vision that transcends cultural and geographical boundaries.

Through the reconfiguration of space, the works here merge into a harmonious yet differentiated whole. On the levels of vision and perception, we hope to convey the sense of ease, equality, and contemplation embodied, offering an embodied presentation of the shared vision.
