The second Beijing Dangdai Art Exhibition opened at the National Agriculture Exhibition Center on August 29. As one of the key activities of the 7th Beijing Huimin Consumption Season, Beijing Contemporary Art Exhibition 2019 carefully invited a total of more than 40 exhibitors, and in the five sectors of “VALUE”, “FUTURE”, “ENERGY”, “SYROY” and “Cadillac WONDER”, a total of more than 2,000 artistic works, artistic literature and creation, and more than 600 kinds of artistic cross-border products were gathered. The exhibition focuses on the rich levels and latest trends of contemporary Chinese art, and the Beijing Contemporary Art Exhibition has become the most representative art event in the capital.

VALUE: Chinese gallery value backbone
The “VALUE” sector brings together a total of 25 representative galleries. This “VALUE” sector focuses on the clue that contemporary art echoes the past with the future in the booth arrangement. In addition to contemporary art works that are currently very active in the market and academia, modern art and contemporary classic works of the 1980s are also included. Demonstrates the value of a high standard and diverse contemporary art gallery. Accordingly, collectors have responded enthusiastically, the scene is hot, and most galleries have considerable transactions in the first time of opening.It is worth mentioning that the Beijing Commune and Ink House have brought experimental projects that fully embody the creativity of the gallery within the fair system in a unique way.

FUTURE: “The art of paper”, with the tradition of the future
The “FUTURE” sector featured “Art of Paper” from eight galleries, presenting various types of paper paintings, photography, art books, as well as paper-based sculptures, installations and other artistic creations. As a medium of traditional Chinese culture and local experience, paper’s cultural influence has expanded to East Asia. The art of paper is both a tradition and an important trend in the Chinese cultural circle.Although the unit also has millions of levels of works, paper works have a price advantage in general, many professional collectors are attracted by “future”, and many guests choose “paper” to be officially promoted as art collectors. Three Shadows +3 Gallery brings a series of temple photography master works and exquisite collection of photography books, New Pants band members Peng Lei and Pang Kuan Star Space also joined in the “Future” unit.

ENERGY: The power of art leads the aesthetics of life
The “ENERGY” sector is the first scene of cultural creation, fashion play, art life and living art, bringing the audience a seamless connection between life and art. BLANK brings toys created by A-list artists such as Yue Minjun × KAWS, Zhou Chunya, Zhou Tiehai and Xu Zhen, UCCA store returns with Picasso art derivatives, and Guangdong Times Art Museum Art + Premium Store brings mooncakes in collaboration with artist Wu Junyong. Tmall ART, Modern Sky design label MVM, and Yellow Mushroom pop-up shop all chose to make their first high-profile appearance at “Beijing Contemporary”.

STORY: A new generation of Chinese contemporary art under historical coordinates
This “STORY” sector presents the works of 35 artists/groups under the age of 35. In the dimension of Chinese social background and art history context, it comprehensively and structurally combs the creation of the youngest generation of artists in China, presents a new dynamic atmosphere of contemporary Chinese art, and provides a cognitive map with a valuable narrative path for contemporary art appreciation and collection. As the group of artists with the most potential to add value, many works were pre-booked before the opening, and some young artists participating in the exhibition obtained appointments for commissioned creation.

WONDER: Public art, public expectation
The “Cadillac WONDER” unit showcases the works of domestic and foreign first-line artists such as Yan Lei, Zhou Li, Reis Ham, and Tobias Reberg in the entire space inside and outside the venue, as well as special cooperation projects: Li Han’s “Citywide Art Exhibition” and Huang Bo’s public visual art work “Unforgettable”, a total of 17 public art works/groups of artists. This unit connects the landscape, spatial and communication works of contemporary art with the public, and uses the most striking works of art to drive the attention of the whole society to contemporary art. This year’s “Cadillac WONDER” public Art Award will also be announced.

This unit is presented by Cadillac Honors, the chief partner of “Beijing Dangdai”. As a new American luxury car brand with a history of more than 116 years, Cadillac has always been adhering to the brand spirit of courage, style and innovation, and the co-evolution of contemporary art is an extension of this spirit.Actor Huang Bo’s photography work “Unforgettable” is inspired by his participation in the recording and observation of public welfare programs. He hopes that through this group of art works, art can have more practical relations with society and people, and arouse public recognition or reflection.

Special projects, the capital linkage
The scene of Beijing Dangdai 2019 also invited “Intangible Heritage Children’s League” and “Code Axiom Children’s Programming” as a special art project of the exhibition to bring the audience a parent-child experience of the art theme.
