Beijing Dangdai Art Fair 2025 will release a series of posters centered on the works exhibited at the fair. These works not only offer possible interpretations and responses to the theme “CONCAVE & CONVEX”, but also serve as highlights previews of important works and participating galleries at the fair. Zhou Yue is an artist whose primary mediums—photography and video—serve the vehicles for his exploration of perception and emotions. Through these mediums, he offers a direct and innovative response to the societal shifts and complexities of modern urban life, engaging in bold experimental practices that stand apart for their originality and depth.

This work, “3 March 2001, Beijing”, will appear at the booth named “Happiness” at the Beijing Dangdai Art Fair. When engaging with his photographic works, we sense that beneath the surface tinged with absurdity there is a deeper undercurrent of goodwill and vigilance. Our viewing, therefore, challenges the physical boundaries of photography and video art today, opening up a new dimension of mutual examination, like looking into a mirror.
