Beijing Dangdai Art Fair 2025 will release a series of posters centered on the works exhibited at the fair. These works not only offer possible interpretations and responses to the theme “CONCAVE & CONVEX”, but also serve as highlights previews of important works and participating galleries at the fair. The poster shared this time is a representative work from the late style of the late artist Shi Chong.

Unnatural Breath V is a representative work of the late artist Shi Chong’s style. The realistic depiction of the characters is re-decomposed and juxtaposed with different parts and perspectives. Media such as water and air fill the space of the picture, creating an immersive and urgent sense of breathing.

Through constant meditation, he repeatedly extracts and refines the symbols and metaphors attached to the body, forming a hybrid, subtle and ambiguous relationship between time,  spaceand the body, which constitutes his pure and accurate painting fulcrum and visual identity. At the same time, he creates a three-dimensional sense of space in a two-dimensional plane. The form of painting and the scratches on it produce mutual touch, and the facial expressions, either subtle or thrilling, form mutual adsorption, and even provide a visual inversion.
