2025’s Beijing Dangdai Art Fair will be held in Hall 11 of the National Agricultural Exhibition Center from May 22 to 25, with the theme of “CONCAVE-CONVEX”, continuing the observation and exploration of the depth and diversity of contemporary art values.

Informatization and globalization have created a “flat world”. While we enjoy the convenience of communication and abundant information, we are also facing the threat of value homogeneity. The elimination of aesthetic distance and negativity is forming a “smooth world”. While we are amazed and revel, we are facing the challenges of aesthetic uniformity and superficiality. The theme of “CONCAVE-CONVEX” aims to arouse everyone’s attention to the “unevenness” and “folds” in the smooth surface, and the perspectives and differential values ​​of others contained therein. The shape and combination of “凹凸” symbolize the complementarity and fit between different local experiences, the connection and cooperation between different subjects, and at the same time echo the time-honored mortise and tenon structure, as well as the oriental aesthetics and manufacturing experience it represents.

The Beijing Dangdai Art Fair 2024, which was successfully held in May this year, combined “richness” with “cohesion”, brought together 122 exhibitors from 36 cities in 14 countries, and welcomed 80,000 visitors in 4 days, sharing a colorful “art world” with everyone and spending a wonderful “Beijing time”. The 2025 Beijing Dangdai Art Fair will continue the grand scale and panoramic presentation of the previous session, continue to deeply sort out and construct the value system of contemporary art, and hope to lead the audience to discover unfamiliar landscapes and different voices that are easily overlooked beyond the surface through an uneven and winding artistic journey, judge and choose with value rationality as the coordinates, and explore and enjoy with embrace of differences as the mentality.
