Beijing Dangdai Art Fair 2026 Artwork Recommendation Feature | Beyond Painting

Beijing Dangdai Art Fair 2026 will take place from May 21 to 24 at Hall 11 of the National Agricultural Exhibition Center, with May 21 to 22 as VIP Preview Days and May 23 to 24 as Public Days. This edition’s artwork recommendation feature, under the theme “Beyond Painting,” focuses on diverse artistic forms beyond easel painting, presenting open-ended practices in media such as sculpture, installation, video, and mixed media within the context of contemporary art.

| Beyond Painting

On-site at the Fair, these works respond to the theme “LAND TRACE” in ways distinct from easel painting. They extend artistic expression into materials, space, the body, and the site itself, allowing audiences to rediscover the ever-expanding boundaries and possibilities of contemporary art at the intersection of multiple media.
